Best Bedding for Deep Sleep

What kinds of bedsheets are best for staying cool and regulating temperature?

You've just uncovered one of the biggest secrets for getting the best night's sleep possible.

Quality sheets.

But this isn't as simple or obvious as you might think. When you're looking to spend 8-ish hours sandwiched between layers of fabric every day of your life, you might not have considered the full range of effects that will change according to what that material is made of, what chemicals and processes were used to produce it, and how it was woven together.

This can affect how much bacteria and moisture they hold, how they regulate temperature, their strength and pliability, but also something even more important...

Did you know, your bedsheets actually have a vibrational quality? If this resonance is higher than your natural body's vibration, then it tends to heal and comfort you. If it is lower, it drains the body, making you tired, sick, and subtly agitated. Some fabrics are shown scientifically to literally heal you as you sleep, while others will disturb your sleep and steal your vitality over the hours of night. Let's explore more.

Quality bedding doesn't have to expensive. When I bought these beautiful organic French linen bedsheets from OnlySet, I immediately fell in love with them. They changed my whole sleep experience and for a much more reasonable price than I was expecting.

Why I choose organic linen bedwear

To most people, it might sound unnecessary to seek out organic linen bedsheets when your everyday cotton seems to do the job just fine. But this has been a very intentional selection for me — and to me, it makes all the difference.

So, why is linen so special?

Every substance, every kind of matter in the universe vibrates. Clothing and bedwear are no exception. It's also true scientifically that the human body has a vibration, which tends to be higher when we're young, healthy, and happy, but lower if we're sick, old, or experiencing negative emotions. What's not known to many people is this has a huge impact on our health and biological coherence — how our body 'cooperates' with itself on the cellular level.

If a material like cloth is against the skin, it can either help or hinder our natural frequency. If it is higher, it can support healing, mood, and our ability to rest. If it's lower, it can create a form of stress or agitation, like a burden to the body. While not all materials are accounted for in the scientific literature, linen and wool stand out as the highest-vibration cloths by far, with various studies showing linen (flax-derived cloth) to support the body's ability to heal wounds and injuries.

Given most of us spend around one-third of our lives tucked between a sandwiching of bedsheets, it makes sense to invest in our health in this way. And I personally find it makes all the difference.

With synthetic sheets or even cheap cotton blends, the material does not breathe. It's so easy to get hot and sweaty in the night, and there is something simply irritating about the effect it has on bare skin which is hard to put into words. Linen, on the other hand, while sometimes being a little crisp to get into on cold nights, is a world apart in how it feels on the body and supports your own natural ability to regulate temperature.

What's more, it's resistant to bacteria build-up, is breathable, is moisture-wicking, is durable and long-lasting, and doesn't have that annoying static that synthetics have. And what's more, when you buy organic, you also avoid the synthetic dyes and chemicals that can soak into your skin and provide another cause for disruption.

When you buy from the top brands, these kinds of sheets can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, but the ones I got here from OnlySet I found to be superb quality for only a fraction of the price.

From my point of view, if you're going to invest in better sleep, this is one of the single most important and effective game-changing upgrades you could do. It's less than $150 USD for a four-piece set, including a fitted sheet, top sheet, and two pillowcases. They come in five different sizes, six different colours, and was quite possibly the single best thing I've bought for my sleep.
